tick tock...

So here I am at 35+3 (35 weeks plus 3 days) and getting fatter by the minute. Whereas I've maintained a neat bump compared to many I'm now struggling to do day to day chores like putting my socks on or climbing stairs without feeling like a geriatric. It's very odd. There's not a lot of room for movement now but he's definitely good at wriggling about and let me tell you, there is nowt such a weird feeling. I'm feeling ok, tired now and spoke to my boss before about working from home from the 23rd so that'll be a nice break. Not rushing about in the morning will help... well rushing as much as a pregnant lady could.

I was thrown a lovely baby shower by H and the ladies the other week which was so nice. They got me loads of lovely stuff and it was just a really nice night. Nice to spend time with them before I gain a new job title. Some people seem to view pregnancy and parenthood as the immediate ceasing of the needs and wants of a grown human person. It's amazing how i've not been invited to the pub or anything even though it's something I could do without drinking and still enjoy. It's very odd! Not that I mind, at the mo but when I was less fat it would've been managable.

The house is progressing. We won't get what we initially planned done but we will get some of it done which will be good. It's been very slow going as the house has a plethora of secrets, not least dodgy plaster, dodgily fitted windows and just the many curve balls it throws at you on a "simple" job. People keep assuming I'm stressed or really worried about it not being done when bean arrives but I'm really not and the people stressing me out at those making that assumption. Beans place is all set up in our room and there will be a lounge space for us to live in so what else does he need. Silly people! With 5 weeks to go I don't see the point in stressing. What will be, will be.

on that note I better get stuck in to some work again...

Ooh, only five weeks! Bet you can't wait for the pregnant bit to be over now! I know when I got to about 36 weeks I was desperate for Princi to pop!

I understand what you mean about the not going out thing. Although, as much as I'd have loved to have gone out, I was unable to do the stairs, so ended up trapped upstairs for about the last 4 months. Not fun!

Glad the house is progressing. For the first three weeks of Princi's life, we were downstairs. Princi slept in a Moses basket next to the couch, where I slept. As long as both you and Bean have a place to sleep, then that's all you need to begin with :D

Well 5 if he's on time, 6 if he's late, 7 if he's lazy ;)

I'm feeling very heavy now, Bean's got a habit of moving about too much on my pelvis which is nice and kicking my ribs but as long as he's ok I'm not complaining too much. But yeh, definitely getting fed up of being this incapable! I mean seriously, even opening a drawer in the kitchen is a chore!

See I'm glad someone speaks sense. Everyone else seems to think it's IMPOSSIBLE to bring a child into anything less than perfection and it's like seriously.. women used to have babies, strap em round their bosom and get back to work!

I'd only say impossible if I were homeless. That'd be pretty tough. As long as there's somewhere you can sit and be comfortable, well, the babs isn't going to be doing much more than eat, sleep and poop for the first few months! Bin (for stinky nappies), chair, bed, cot, bottle, copious amounts of coffee, and a working bathroom. That's all you need. Oh, and possibly some chocolate!

possibly some chocolate? Surely that's and definitely some chocolate?

That depends if they're going to put a tax on chocolate. If so, then women need a tax break as it's scienctifically proven that we need choccie!
