I've not blogged for a long while. Things have been a little fraught in work and I've been spending most of my time keeping my head down and getting jobs done so that i still have a job in a months or two's time!
The last couple of weeks have also been busy as my best mate (or one of them) and ex housemate finally got married. 2 weeks prior we had a lovely baby shower for her as "bump" is now making his presence felt, big time. It's an american thang but hey i thought it was such a nice way to get baby things and chill with your family and friends.
The week after that we all went off the Crabwell Manor Hotel in Mollington Cheshire for a "spa" weekend which involved VERY posh hotel rooms, very lovely food, lounging around in a romanesque style pool and a lovely warm jacuzzi! It was so lovely and I came back feeling really chilled out...which lasted about 20 mins once I got back to work ha ha!
Last weekend was the wedding which was typical Mand and Paul, understated, fun and completely relaxed. They giggled their way through the ceremony and it was just a really lovely day, it's kinda mad they've been together 8 years and can still giggle like loops. I'm not a fan of marriage as I've said before and have no plans to go down that route but it is so nice to see people who do want to do that get stuck in and have a day they want rather than the pomp and circumstance that they think people expect. Very good we likee.
Things are rather mellow again now as we head for the bank hols. Half my merry chums are heading off to Leeds today - I'm unsure why as the line up is bollocks compared to the Reading festival of yore but then I'm old now and I have started saying things like "who's this, i've never heard of them...are they in the hit parade?"
Fnar!
In all seriousness it's not my cuppa cha, not enough rock for my liking but I hope they have a wicked time :D
This weekend I plan to have my last relaxing weekend before I gut my front room and begin the interesting concept of decorating. hmmm fun?
Right I'm off to sort out my fantasy footy team for gameweek 4. It's become an obsession... having been coerced into joining in with the lads league at work I've managed to maintain 2nd place after taking the first week at the top of the table. I was most proud.
Right time to transfer gary speed...
