Fresh air the curer of ills?

So my 2 year old has recently decided that he won't go to sleep come bed time. He doesn't kick off and misbehave, he just goes to bed once Cbeebies finishes and then "reads dories" to his teddies for 40+ minutes until one of us goes up to tuck him back in. Of course if it has been a rainy day it's longer.

I'm one of those mums who believe in a bit o fresh air and a run about does you the world of good, but even this isn't working so I have now concluded that this means the end of that one blissful hour of peace in the middle of the day when both Bean and Noodledoodle are visiting the land of nod and mummy gets to have a hot cup of tea.

I guess this is the next phase. My little man is growing up. I looked at him today and he's gone lean again, his trousers that were once needing a rollup now touch the top of his shoes and he looks like a little boy. Then I look at Noodledoodle and he looks so little still despite the fact he's fast outgrowing my knee but he is so big compared to just 7 months ago.

Man it makes me broody!

Tell me about it. I look at Princi now and wonder where the time went. She's so tall and wow, does she ever speak her mind! It still feels like yesterday when I could hold her in the crook of one arm and only look forward to her first word - something she's been very interested in asking about over the last couple of weeks.

The time disappears so fast.

It does. I can't believe she's so grown up now lady. It was only yesterday I got the text from H that you'd had her!

Who said time was supposed to speed up as we got older! I don't like it!
