Well 9 weeks,
"If extreme mood swings leave you feeling like a drama queen this week, you're not alone. Hormonal fluctuations are treating your emotions like a yo-yo now. One minute you feel weepy and the next you're laughing harder than you've ever laughed before. Take comfort in knowing that those same volatile hormones are helping your baby grow. In fact, this week marks the first time your baby looks almost human. He has all the standard body parts in place now — though they're not yet formed to perfection."
This is true in some ways. I've not been possessed by the spirit of the snarling woman, my moods appear to be staying fairly temperate but I could cry. A lot.
But man this week I just feel awful. Nothing fits, I'm wearing trousers a size too big for me which are too short which are the only things that fit right now as I'm not big enough for maternity clothes yet. My hair is lank and greasy and I've not been able to do my roots for weeks. I'm tired, so tired, different to being exhausted from doing things this is just weird and my skin looks grey all the time.
I keep getting told it'll get better and the hormones will calm down a little, at least enough for me to feel a bit more human! Hurrah! Roll on that day!
Busy weekend last weekend spent with my parents who helped up clean out the attic in preparation for insulating. Something we definitely need come the winter as we won't be able to afford to have the heating on for more than 5 minutes it seems! It was a dirty job and I can't believe how much junk the people before us left. We did find some old Liverpool Echo newspapers from November 5th 1938 though which were amazing to read through. News on that day, the persecution of Jewish people in Nazi Germany who were being forced to give away all their money and possessions to the Reich and Everton beating Middlesborough 4-0 to be 2nd in the table. Man U were firmly on the bottom ha ha! It was scary reading about the news from Germany though, like that made it become real rather than something you read about (even though I know it's very very real and could not and should never be denied).
I'm going to keep them and put them back up in the attic with an Echo and Daily post from today as well. Maybe someone else will find them in 70 years and care enough to enjoy it.
I really should get on with my research in to who owned my house through the years. it'd be nice to know who bought the Echo for November 5th 1938 :)

Hon, sympathies! I felt like I was on a bungee cord, but a bungee cord stuck on down more than up. It was very hard. If you ever just want a whinge, call me :)
The Echos sound so intriguing! Any chance you can take some scans? I'd love to read them.
When is your first ultrasound? I can't wait to see the first picture of little Skippy'n'Al-bean!
ooh yeh I will scan them before I put them back up in the loft. They're a real treasure I love stuff like that.
My scan is the monday after next so it's all getting very close now but don't worry, auntie lexy will have a pic as soon as I can get it scanned in :D
Hee, all excited, I am! And all Yoda I have gone!
It's interesting to look through old papers :) Might even give me some ideas for stories, something that is in the forefront of my mind now that the creative writing course has started.
By the way, 7 audiobooks read by Jack Davenport currently haunt the world... *swoon*
7! OHMIGOD 7 I have to get them!
He's like captain cisco on Deep Space Nine, his voice is like audio chocolate! mmmmmmm!
Ooh cool well I'll see what I can do about the newspapers. See how well they scan and stuff and sent them through :)
Yep, yep, yep. Audio chocolate is exactly the right description. Yum!
*Fingers crossed* that the paper scanning goes well, I'm so intrigued! You're a star! xx
